Density measurement of clinker

Radiometric density measuring systems are used to control the bulk density of clinker after cooling. As there is a correlation between density and free lime, the signal is used to optimize the burner.

Installation

The installation site should be after the cooler to obtain a more precise measurement of the degree of burning. The clinker fills up the volume above the valve. As soon as the density signal is stabilized the measurement is recorded and the valve opens. Click here for more information on Berthold density gauges.

Massflow measurement

The radiometric weigher is a useful solution of measure on the clinker. Radiometric massflow measuring systems are used for measurement on clinker to control the massflow on a conveyor belt or chain conveyor. Click here for more information of Berthold massflow gauges.

Level switch on Cyclones and Coolers

Radiometric level switches are used to detect the filling of clinker on cyclones and cooler.

Installation

The installation of detector and shielding should be outside the walls. To obtain a minimum activity of the source a pipe DN 50 is inserted into the wall. The clinker fills up the cyclones or the cooler with automatic level alarm. Click here for more information on Berthold level switches.

Cycle opening valve

During the cycle "opening valve and refilling measuring tube" the last density value will be stored until the new measurement cycle is started. Input STOP - MEASURE into the evaluation unit from the valve control signal.
