Welcome to the world of digital photography

Photographic-Quality Digital Image Printer Exclusively from FUJIFILM

The revolutionary FUJIFILM Pictrography 3000 offers brilliant photographic color quality with continuous tone and maximum resolution of 400 dpi, superior to conventional dye-sub printers.

Fujix Pictrography 3000 PG-3000 photo-quality digital printer.

The Pictrography 3000 is an innovative digital printer that gives brilliant, photo-quality color output from a wide range of digital image data. Print directly from computer graphics, scanned images and Photo CDs - without chemicals or toner. The first print takes only 2 minutes, and each subsequent print of the same image is produced in about 70 seconds. With its photo-quality color and texture, Pictrography output can be displayed or commercially printed in the same way as conventional photographs.

A Unique Printing Process The Pictrography 3000 achieves its excellent color reproduction through a two-step process. 1) A photosensitive donor paper is exposed by laser diodes at levels corresponding to the input image data. Then heat and small amount water applied to create a dye image in the donor paper. 2) The dye image is transferred to the receiving paper.

High-speed printing The first print from an image appears in just 2 minutes. Each subsequent print of the same image takes about 70 seconds.

Simple color adjustment Color can be adjusted from the connected computer.

Ease of operation The Pictrography's LCD control panel provides all necessary instructions. Loading donor paper and receiving paper fast and simple, and the absence of chemicals and toner keeps maintenance to minimum.

Easy color calibration The Pictrography calibrates color accurately through a closed-loop color calibration system. Just set your optimum color conditions to maintain consistency over time or between print jobs.

Full-page photo-quality prints from a wide range of digital sources

The Pictrography's photographic print quality makes it the choice for professional applications that require full color digitized images. In graphic and industrial design, scientific and medical imaging, printing and communications, the Pictrography 3000's major advance in reproduction quality makes it the professional's color printer. (Resolution: 400 dpi Max.)

Pre-press and Graphic Design: Raise the standard of presentations with the Pictrography's high-quality color comps. Graphic designers can now enjoy a new level of printing performance.

Medical and Scientific Research: The Pictrography's excellent reproduction quality makes it the natural choice for all who need to capture and store color images for scientific and medical research. For remote sensing, simulations, or recognition of images from distant galaxies to DNA, Pictrography output is the ultimate output medium.

Industrial and Architectural Design: Present designs with photo-quality rendering. The Pictrography raises the impact of both live presentations and printed materials for use in such fields as industrial design and architectural design.

Photo Retouching and Restoration: Photography has entered the digital age thanks to innovations in high-resolution CCD cameras and the expansion of digital communications networks. The Pictrography supports the full range of applications now available, including Photo CD and image processing software. When retouching photographs, printing Photo CDs, or creating composite images, the Pictrography is now the printer of choice.

See the difference for yourself! Fast, immaculate digital prints - without processing chemicals.

The Pictrography performs density modulation for each point of the line scan, so there is no trade-off between gradation and resolution. It yields far better results than the dye-sub printer even at 200dpi, and at 400dpi resolution, Pictrography prints give an even more dynamic rendition for both for presentations and commercial printing.

One-pass Pictrography processing makes the difference The Pictrography achieves such sharp, clean output thanks to its one-pass process of laser diode exposure and thermal dye transfer in the three component colors of yellow, magenta and cyan. Dye-sub printers transfer dye in a three or four-pass process by mechanically moving the ink sheet for each of the yellow, magenta, cyan, and black layers. This makes it hard to maintain print accuracy and leads to color shifts and diffusion.
