| Now you can enhance your results with higher sensitivity, wider dynamic range, and
true linearity - while keeping yourself out of the darkroom. The Fujifilm FDL 5000
delivers exceptional 25 µm pixel size digital images by reading your TEM images from
erasable, reusable Imaging Plates (IPs). This proprietary Fujifilm technology completely
eliminates time wasted during film processing, freeing more productive time for your
research, while dramatically improving image quality. FDL-5000 imaging plates are the same size as your current film. Magazine loaded, the imaging plates are exposed instead of film. No modifications to the electron microscope are necessary, and upon loading the imaging plate magazine into the FDL-5000, the imaging plates are scanned and digital images of your samples are immediately ready for analysis. |
Easily observe beam-sensitive specimens The FDL 5000 IP lets you easily observe even the most beam-sensitive biological specimens. The IP detection area is significantly more sensitive than that of conventional film, and is just as large.
| Capture every level of intensity of accurate analysis The inherently wide dynamic range of an IP is far superior to that of film. Diffraction patterns of widely varying intensities can be observed in a single frame. | |
| Quantify electron dosage accurately Thanks to the FDL 5000's linear signal intensity, you can quantify the electron dose for diffraction patterns and your HREM images far more accurately than film. | |
| Process images on a range of computers FDL 5000 yields digital image data that can be easily processed and analyzed on a range of computer platforms - maximizing your flexibility. |
Gain more productive time by eliminating film processing No more time wasted in the darkroom. With IP technology, the time and expense of film processing is completely eliminated, freeing more time for productive research.
Bring consistent benefits to a broad range of TEMs You can take advantage of IP benefits for virtually any TEM without modifications, because the size of the IP is identical to that of most available film. A variety of recommended cassettes are available.
Generate photo-quality prints in minutes The FDL 5000's photo-grade printer Pictrography 3000 delivers final, high-quality images almost immediately - without waiting for darkroom results.
Enhance your observation of low-contrast images Wide-angle detection and 3760x3000 pixel resolution provide superb visualisation of low-contrast images.

Emphasize hidden details through digital processing Digital processing techniques such as masking and fourier transformation help you emphasise and visualise hidden structures. The all-digital FDL-5000 system makes digital image processing a natural complement to your imaging work.
