Activity is a measure of the amount of radionuclide(s) in a material emitting ionising radiation. Activities in samples are measured in Becquerel. Berthold offers several instruments for alpha-beta or gamma counting. Especially for environmental samples or wipe tests there are low or even very low detection limits required. Berthold use special background reduction techniques, selected detector materials and lead shieldings to provide excellent MDAs.
LB 200 Becquerel Monitor for activity measurement in foodstuffs
The LB 200 is a very simple scintillation measuring system for the assessment of gamma activity in foodstuffs, liquids and bulk goods in Bq/l. Its microprocessor electronics allows the non-professional user to directly determine the radioactivity of gamma emitting radionuclides in liquids and solid matter in an easy and reliable manner down to approx. 20 Becquerel per liter or per kilogram in 1 hour measuring time.
LB 2045 Gamma Spectrometer
The LB 2045 is a modern gamma spectroscopy system for activity measurements in laboratories.
It is easy to operate and provides quick and reliable measurement results which are presented clearly arranged on a large graphical display with touch panel. The instrument is ideally suited for nuclide-specific activity measurements in the radionuclide laboratory.
LB 2046 Portable α-β-Activity Measuring System
The α/β-Monitor LB 2046 has been designed for general radiation protection applications, such as the measurement of α-, β- and γ-activities in wipe sample or on dusted filters, for the analysis of environmental samples, e.g. waste water after evaporation, and for the detection of activities in small quantities of food samples.
LB 790 10-Channel α-β Low-Level Counter with PC-Software AMS
The 10-Channel Low-Level Counter - LB 790 allows simultaneous and separate measurements of low activities for alpha and beta radiation emitting radionuclides with a detection limit of approx. 12 mBq for Alpha (Am-241) and approx. 22 mBq for Beta (Sr-90) (according to ISO 11929; 1 h measuring time).
LB 761 GD α-β Low-Level Counter for 200 mm Planchets
The measuring system LB 761 GD α-β Low-Level Counter for 200 mm Planchets allows the simultaneous measurement of α- and β- activity of a sample in two separate measuring channels. The background count-rates of the system LB 761 are extraordinarily low, so that good detection limits can be achieved.
LB 2050 Clearance Monitor
The Clearance Monitor LB 2050 has been specially designed for clearance measurements which are required for the disposal of radioactive waste with negligible radioactivity in accordance with the German Radiation Protection Ordinance of 2001. The Clearance Monitor LB 2050 indicates the storage time for the respective nuclide until the radioactivity of waste has decayed so much that the values fall below the legal clearance levels. All clearance measurements are automatically documented in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
